每年美国国庆，总见星条旗飞扬，星条旗之歌满耳。

有没有想过：往后必定年年如此吗？

不幸，答案是“未必”！

君不见前有代表美国的球员们却在升星条旗时不起立不抚心而以单膝下跪表达藐视吗？而刚刚收场的这场借"黑命贵"为名，行反美之实的暴徒不是要推倒立国总统先贤们的雕像，多次焚烧那面代表美国价值的星条旗吗？魔鬼要推毁这个星球上首个，也是唯一以圣经立国的国家由来已久，但如今它下手越来越快，越来越狠。

历史正在重演，当年保卫这面星条旗的重担已落到我们肩上。为将她守住并在艰难的处境里传给后代，今年独立日我们有必要再次重温先辈们是以何等重价换得这面星条旗，这首《星条旗之歌》的：

Francis Scott Key

1814年，为能自由敬拜上帝而脱离英国的“五月花”号后代传承先辈信仰，以圣经立国的美国已初具规模，是年英国重兵入侵欲将其摧毁。把华盛顿的国会，白宫付之一炬后，英军又直驱巴尔的摩城下。

双方力量悬殊，英军认定夺城只需两小时半。然而在城头一面巨大星条旗下，为了守住信仰，军民誓死抵抗。整夜炮火不息，又加大雨如注，身为律师和诗人的弗朗西斯-斯科特-基（Francis Scott Key）彻夜心系国旗是否会被攻倒。

次日黎明，借着第一缕光亮朦胧望去，但见那星条旗虽然弹痕累累，她竟圪立未倒！把城艰难守住的不止是城头上的勇士，更有城下的祷告勇士。 他热血沸腾，写下这首《星条旗之歌》。

因其精神感人，1931年被正式定为美国国歌。全歌共四段，现今常为唱第一段，但第四段为感恩上帝的高潮。此为第四段中文译文。

O say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

哦，你可看见，透过一线曙光，
我们对着什么，发出欢呼的声浪？
谁的阔条明星，冒着一夜炮火，
依然迎风招展，在我军碉堡上？
火箭闪闪发光，炸弹轰轰作响，
它们彻夜见证，国旗安然无恙。
你看星条旗不是还高高飘扬
在这自由国土，勇士的家乡？

On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner, O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
透过稠密的雾，隐约望见对岸，
顽敌正在酣睡，四周沉寂阑珊。
微风断断续续，吹过峻崖之巅，
你说那是什么，风中半隐半现？
现在它的身上，映着朝霞烂漫，
凌空照在水面，霎时红光一片。
这就是星条旗，愿它长久飘扬
在这自由国土，勇士的家乡。

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country, should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
都到哪里去了，信誓旦旦的人们？
他们向往的是能在战争中幸存，
家乡和祖国，不要抛弃我们。
他们自己用血，洗清肮脏的脚印。
那些奴才、佣兵，没有地方藏身，
逃脱不了失败和死亡的命运。
但是星条旗却将要继续飘扬
在这自由国土，勇士的家乡。

O thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation.
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the Heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: 'In God is our trust.'
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

玉碎还是瓦全，摆在我们面前，
自由人将奋起保卫国旗长招展。
祖国自有神佑，胜利和平在望；
建国家，保家乡，赞美上帝的力量。
我们一定得胜，正义属于我方，
“我们信仰上帝”，此语永志不忘。
胜利的星条旗将永远飘扬
在这自由国土，勇士的家乡。
